Sunday Ramblings #83

Well, hi there. Happy Sunday, Happy Mother’s Day. I hope you all are getting spoiled, having a wonderful day.

This mornings’ NYT newsletter had some readers tips from moms. You can never go wrong with this advice, eh?

‘Knock with your elbows’ – It meant show up at a friend’s place burdened with contributions for the party. — Natalie Serber, 64, Portland, Oregon

Bedding out plants in a greenhouse.
The strings are for growing my tomatoes, cucumbers, or melons from. Will see what I grow on this side of the greenhouse this year.

We have a cloudy morning but this afternoon should be nice and warm, so my daughter and I will be celebrating by planting up some of our baskets/planters. I have filled the greenhouse with basket stuffers and companion flowers from a local grower.

Cuttings of coleus and trailing plants to add to your planters and baskets.
My cuttings have all rooted in nicely. These will be the trailers in my baskets, plus the bright coleus to make my shade planters pop!

I get so excited about this time of year. The spring flowers poking through the ground, the garden prep and planting, the basket making. Ready made baskets are lovely, but I so love making my own – just makes it all kind of special.
