My Favourite Gift Ideas for the Gardener on Your List
A pond and garden with raised beds and lovely gateway.
One of the many gardens Wolf Willow Cooperative Housing in Saskatoon

I kind of live and breathe gardening. Growing food and flowers just makes me happy, makes my soul happy. Growing edibles, feeding the bees, bugs, and birds, keeping my yard organic for all the critters… well, I just love everything about the whole shebang.

I can recommend all sorts of big things here, but it is kind of hard to get excited about them when winter just started and spring seems so far away. If you really want to wow your gardener, I can vouch for all of these ideas! This is the chipper/shredder that I have and really like, this tumbling compost bin is the bomb (I want to have several around the yard!), and this mini greenhouse is easy to move around. I use it on the deck, in the actual greenhouse, and out in the yard – wherever I need it at the time.

As with my earlier post about how I create ‘care package’ type Christmas gifts for my family, I do exactly the same for my gardener friends. Fill it up with any of these ideas!

Here are some ideas that I think most gardeners would love to get for Christmas… myself included.

Get a fun garden tote and fill it up with fun things for any gardener. Toss in some favourite seeds and you will be awarded best gift giver of the year award.

Canadian seed companies with paper catalog to add into your tote gift bag

Barebones Hori Hori / Barebones Garden Scoop/Shovel / Barebones Trowel / Barebones Garden Scissors

If you want to add something special to your gift bag, these tools are made to last and are so very bougie!

I will add this to the end here as I really think they are important for anyone who has a greenhouse, whether big or small, fancy or not. They are practical and you really do need to know where your temps are at.

  1. I have this greenhouse thermometer right now and really like it, but I have to go out to the greenhouse, or shop, (wherever I have it at the time), to read it. Practical if you are going outside daily and keeping an eye on things. I really love it, is super practical in spring and summer. I use it in the greenhouse from spring till fall and then move it to the potting shed for the winter months.
  2. This is what I want to get under the tree this year though. This weather station stays inside the house and comes with 3 sensors. You can keep an eye on the temps of all three places while you sit in front of the tv.
  3. Many, many gardeners love the thermometers that they can read from their cellphones. This one is on sale for the Cyber Monday deal right now and comes with 3 sensors.
  4. I also like this one, it is so pretty, but only comes with one sensor, so depends on your situation.
A huge zucchini plant with some nasturtiums peaking through the front of the plant for companion planting.

I hope you all a super fabulous holiday season ~ Tanja
