Sunday Ramblings #50

Sunday Ramblings #50

Happy Sunday, friends? How are you all?

Today is the 50th Sunday Ramblings post on this new blog. I can’t believe how fast it has gone by.

I sometimes hear that blogs are a thing of the past. My daughter tells me no one has time to read them. I find that so odd. I know we all do quite a bit of swipe and forget but I love perusing blog posts. See what folks are sharing. Their tips, ideas, information, education, recipes… Yes, I skim some of them while I pore over others. I rarely have time or interest to watch vlogs or videos. They require too much focus, hahaha, so I need to be really interested in what they have to say or show me.

I think these Sunday blog posts are the kind I would skim through (if it were not my on blog, of course). Pick out the things that appeal to me, read the recipes that sound yummy, make them during the week to check them out, take ideas from the landscaping and gardening bits…

Anyway, that is what I hope you get out of them. I hope you enjoy some of the bits that I find and share. I hope you make some of the recipes. Most of all, I hope you love coming back to the blog each post.

I have seed saving posts coming up this week as the time nears for saving from your zinnias, cosmos, calendula, marigolds, and dahlias (yes, you can absolutely save dahlia seeds!).

Let me know if you have any other things that you really want to know about as the season progresses! I will be getting my new hip in a week’s time, so will have lots of sitting time after that ; )

Gardening Bits…

A vibrant display of pink echinacea flowers surrounded by various green plants in a garden setting.
The fall flowers in my front garden are showing off like crazy.

My lamium (deadnettle) in the bottom left. Fast growing, but luckily, is easy to pull out if it spreads too much. I love that it adds some brightness to this corner by my front porch.
A cozy fall porch decorated with various pumpkins and small evergreen plants, featuring a blue door and brick walls.

The grandies were over yesterday so we had them help us with the Hallowe’en decorating. I am not yet done but we got a good start on it. The kids had a blast.

Oh, I did not have a good, long dead branch for the front this year, so I added one of my multi-headed sunflowers. I left the seed heads on it for the birdies, too.

Home & Decor…

A coastal kitchen featuring a blue tile backsplash, wooden cabinets, and elegant pendant lighting.

Stunning coastal kitchen makeover. I love that blue tile wall! I love this kitchen a whole lot, parts of it even more than my own kitchen… which I love a whole lot.

  • One of the things mentioned in keeping your brain sharp is to learn a new thing, pick up a new hobby, etc… So, I thought these crocheted potted plants were something super fun to learn how to make.
  • Also great to give as Christmas gifts… either the kit, or the finished product.
  • Here are a few more ideas to keep your brain sharp this fall. Things to do while when the cool weather comes and you are stuck indoors more.
