We have had the most glorious spring weather this week. Each day, I go out and look to see how many spring bulbs have popped up since I last checked. A few more pop up daily! It is so exciting. It’s the small things, isn’t it? That make life sweet.

This is the first weekend of workshops in my new wee potting up shed, and oh, what fun it is. I have missed getting together with other gardeners and chatting about all things gardening. We start on our main topic and then go off into other tangents as questions are asked.
We also have the grandies over for a weekend sleepover, so is a tad bit busy around here ; )

While this picture is not from this new house (is hubby washing off the walls and gutters at my last wee workshop/garden cottage), it is something we have started doing here already, too.
I have washed the patio, the deck, the patio furniture, the back windows…. getting ready for chillin’ in the sunshine. I’ve also power washed my greenhouse both inside and out, to take off the dust and allow in as much spring sunshine as possible. There is nothing quite as enjoyable as that outdoor cleaning in spring!

Recipes and Foodie Bits

From Martha… Spaghetti with shrimp, kale, and burst tomatoes.
Favourite Rhubarb Recipes – there are several of these that are on my must make list. I still have 6 packages of rhubarb left from last year so need to use them up before this year’s harvest begins. I made a rhubarb upside down cake for the ladies’ coffee and it was a big hit. The jam, sauce, and muffins look like something I want to make, too!
No knead peasant bread. I have made this many, many times over the past decade. It always turns out great. In the original recipe, she bakes them in Pyrex bowls.
